The Level 2 Referee Qualification This award is aimed at the beginner; perhaps you have experience as a player or have attended a level 1 course. A level 2 referee is qualified to officiate local recreational basketball. Experienced level 2 referees can officiate up to senior National League, as well as junior National League competitions. The course is a 17 hour course over 4 units.
All you need to do is complete 4 units spread throughout the season (with additional units scheduled in should you miss a session) at one of the Baskeball England Regional Performance Centres. So what are you waiting for? Earn some money, develop your skills, make new friends and work your way up the Officiating Pathway.
Download an Application Form from www.basketballengland.co.uk. You can fill the form out for yourself, or get other members of your club to come along and join you.
All units are at the venues specified below except for the final unit 4 “Mechanics 2 & Philosophy” which will be at a venue to be confirmed. Each unit will be delivered in conjunction with the Regional Performance Centre Set up in your area, creating an excellent learning environment for players and officials alike.
