This week the NBA, FIBA and the Latvian Basketball Association hosted 64 of the top boys and girls for the European Basketball without borders (BWB) camp in Latvia.
Three English players had the privilege to attend the camp, Amari Williams from Myerscough, Josh Uduje from London Thunder and Matthew Marsh from Barcelona; it is a huge achievement for all of players involved and allows them play in front of NBA players and coaches while taking part in a high level camp.
The BWB will see a number of current and former NBA and WNBA players like Kristaps Porzingas, Darius Bertans and Coaches Rick Carlisle and Josh Longstaff put the players through a variety of activities on and off court. These will allow the players to showcase their talents in all areas including; movement efficiency, skill stations, shooting competitions and 5-on-5 games.
Uduje, was a member of the Londo Thunder Lewisham team who won Division 4 Men Playoff Title this past season, coming home with MVP honours, as he scored a game high 24 points to go with three assists, two seals and a block. Uduje did most of his damage from beyond the arc, going an impressive 6/11 from deep to help push his side to glory.
A huge congratulations to Josh Uduje for making the All-Star Europe team along with fellow countryman Matthew Marsh.
